MDT Reports Positive FAST-PVI Data

Medtronic (MDT 38.99 +0.02) reported that catheters reduce lab time required for pulmonary vein isolation by 35%.
Data from the FAST-PVI study, supported by MDT, shows lab time using anatomically-designed ablation catheters are more than one-third (35%) faster than traditional point-by-point focal ablation procedures in achieving pulmonary vein isolation.

WBD: Danone Files Amended 13D

Wimm Bill Dann Foods (19.61 -1.97) announced, on June 18, 2010, Danone announced that it had entered into a transaction with Unimilk Holdings, a privately owned Russian dairy company, pursuant to which Danone and UHL will merge their dairy businesses in the CIS area.
In light of this transaction, Danone determined to review their options regarding their investment in WBD, including the possible sale of some or all of their Ordinary Shares or ADSs.


SMOD Guides Q2 Revs Above Consensus

Smart Modular Tech (SMOD 7.08 +0.57) reported fiscal third quarter GAAP earnings of $0.23 per share, $0.05 better than the Thomson Reuters consensus of $0.18.
Revenues rose 119.7% year-over-year to $201.2 million, above the $180.7 million consensus.
For its fourth quarter, the company issued GAAP EPS of $0.19 to $0.21, including $8.0-8.4 million in income tax provisions, versus the $0.20 Thomson Reuters consensus. On the top line, the company expects revenues to be in the range of $200 million to $210 million, well above the $185.91 million Thomson Reuters consensus.
