Cobra Oil and Gas - Trading Symbol: CGCA

Before we get into the FUNDAMENTALS of this company, check out why CGCA is already a great "technical" play at current levels right this minute

1)
The stock could be sitting at, or very close to, SOLID SUPPORT-this could MAXIMIZE RETURN while MINIMIZING RISK.

2)The stochastics are indicating EXTREMELY OVERSOLD CONDITIONS-this is usually VERY BULLISH and suggests a likely bounce in the near-term.

3) Volume on the recent move up was considerably higher than volume on the way down---this often suggests HEAVY ACCUMULATION and, despite the powerful surge, minimal profit taking. This, too, is VERY BULLISH.

4)After a tremendous move in July from 40 cents to $1.90, the stock has retraced almost exactly 50% of the move---often considered an IDEAL ENTRY POINT.

CHART

So what exactly does CGCA do and why do we think the timing could be perfect?

Cobra Oil and Gas Co. (CGCA) is an oil and gas exploration company with the twin goals of contributing to American energy independence while growing shareholder value.

Cobra Oil and Gas Co. (CGCA) is focused identifying short and long-term oil and gas opportunities in PROVEN, DOMESTIC energy plays

Cobra Oil and Gas Co. (CGCA) stands to benefit from new extraction technologies and higher energy prices (now at a new 2009 high of $74 a barrel) making it possible for us to produce oil from oil sands right here in America.

Cobra Oil and Gas Co. (CGCA)has entered 3 LOIs since June 27 and ALL 3 were successfully closed in LESS THAN A MONTH

Cobra Oil and Gas Co. (CGCA) has been joined by the likes of Exxon ($337B), Pioneer ($3.5B), and Questar ($6B).

And check out this EXCITING NEWS recently announced by the Company

CGCA just picked up 640 more red-hot acres on the sweet spot of America's Secret Oil Field, in Utah.

That's right CGCA recently announced that it had completed a purchase agreement with Enercor, Inc. for a 62.5% working interest covering 640 acres within the P.R. Spring Deposit in Uintah County, Utah.

Max Pozzoni, President of CGCA explained, "We are excited at the progress being made in expanding our rights within the intended P.R. Spring Deposit."

He added, "We are excited at the progress being made in expanding our rights within the intended P.R. Spring Deposit." To read the full article Click Here. Just look at the nearly 1400% move in just 2 months of a similar company, Avro Energy (AVOE).

Could CGCA be set to embark on a similar move as AVOE? We think it is a much better company, and with the stock as beaten down as it is right now the opportunity looks even more compelling.

And with the recent 50% pullback in CGCA and new 2009 high in crude, this "bullish divergence" between the fundamentals and technicals could be a SCREAMING OPPORTUNITY.

We think this gap between crude and the CGCA stock price will narrow very soon.

8/25/09: Maybe it was the posh British Accent or the depth of the knowledge that is is part of Nicolas Toms charm but honestly he could have kept me as a captive audience simply based on talent and passion for his company and I believe his potential investors, be it Institutions, Investment Funds, Banks, or High Net Worth individuals would all feel the same way.

You see there is a strategy here. As mentioned before he took a little company like PEAK at $0.23 and sold it for $18 per share. And at the time the bar code technology wasn't even close to being where the mobile community industry is right now.

All great companies are able to get to know their client s well enough to identify there pain and address it in a cost effective and productive matter. Providing high-end solutions while staying with in a budget, and at the same time following up with constant support and customer service, this is what makes DNPI simply invaluable to their customers.

Clearly all of these things not only lead to new business but to that reoccurring business that is such an integral part of DNPI's growth strategy.

Let's take a company like Mobile MINI for example, who provides temporary office pods and equipment and office containers or pods if you will, in case a business has to relocate or expand quickly. Because Mobile MINI was unable to efficiently track when these items were being delivered or even picked up, or in some cases they were even unable to identify if the pods were picked up at all, after many case studies and research, DNPI found their pain. Mobile MINI's pain was sung to the tune of several million dollars in missing receivables and inventory. All because there was no efficient way to track or bill their products and services.

"DNPI's solution provided labelling each of Mobile Mini's containers with unique all weather bar code labels with a half life of 500 years..."recover millions of dollars in mislaid equipment and provide complete and accurate billing information in real time" DNPI installed bar codes and GPS tracking devices that are all read by hand held mobile computing systems and that allow Mobile MINI not only able to recover the millions of dollars in lost receivables but continue to grow their business because they don't have to waste time trying to track down their inventory

Another huge success story for DNPI was there contract with Celgene. Originally they put in an RFP for what they believed was a $150,000 pilot program. they were even up again one of their biggest competitors, IBM Global Services.

Not only did DNPI win the RFID win but they were informed that Celgene was so impressed that the contract was not going to be a pilot, they were in fact going live wish a $1 million contract. After 30 days of showing DNPI's sterling performance, Celgene then informed that the contract would be extend for several million dollars and cover Celgene worldwide and they have recently asked for another upgrade in services.

Clearly in order to sustain the level of growth that DNPI is achieving at a rapid pace, they want to make sure that when these key contracts come into play , that they not only want a solid balance sheet to continue to land these contrctas but enough cash to be able to deliver the products and services to their client base. Their clients are big players with deep pockets and DNPI needs to continue there track record of proven success.

There is a few ways for them to continue to do this. They are currently focusing on producing their own proprietary like of services and software that will continue to increase margins and as well as their bottom line. Eventually they want their mix to be 60% of the services and software and 40% of the resale portion of their business. This will continue to improve and increase profit margins and but also cash at hand, while continuing to reduce costs.

Another key factor in investing it DNPI is that even during a time when there was a tremendous crunch in the credit market, they were able to maintain a $6.5 million line of credit and in March 2009, not only was that line of credit renewed but it was increased to $8.5 million and nearly half of that money is still available to them if needed for working capital not to mention that as part of the credit extension DNPI also was ngranted a 225 basis point reduction in our interest expense.

Download the 2009 interim results in PDf format

FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS

  • First half order intake(1) of US$5.8 billion (2008: US$1.7 billion) with backlog(2) of US$8.4 billion at 30 June 2009 (31 December 2008: US$4.0 billion)
  • EBITDA(3) up 16% to US$207.5 million (2008: US$179.2 million)
  • Net profit(4) for the period up 20% to US$145.6 million (2008: US$121.2 million) on revenue up 1% to US$1,586 million (2008: US$1,576 million)
  • Earnings per share (diluted) up 22% to 42.70 cents (2008: 35.13 cents)
  • Interim dividend up 43% to 10.70 cents (6.46 pence(5)) per share (2008: 7.50 cents)
  • Gross cash balances at 30 June 2009 of US$900.2 million (31 December 2008: US$694.4 million)

Commenting on the results, Ayman Asfari, Petrofac’s group chief executive, said:

“Overall, we are very pleased with the group’s achievements in the first half of the year, and our excellent growth prospects.

“Notwithstanding the significantly lower oil price environment experienced in the first half of the year the group has performed well and, subject to any unforeseen circumstances, we are confident that we will deliver earnings growth for the full year of at least 20 per cent. With over US$6 billion of new contract awards secured in the year to date the group has record backlog giving outstanding revenue visibility and underpinning the group’s confidence that strong growth in earnings will continue well beyond the current year.”

OPERATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

Engineering & Construction

  • Successful in securing US$5.9 billion of new contract awards in the year to date (US$5.4 billion during 1H 2009), including lump-sum contracts in Abu Dhabi, Algeria, Oman and Saudi Arabia

Offshore Engineering & Operations

  • Following increasing tender activity as the year has progressed, success in July in securing a £75 million 3-year contract with Apache to provide engineering and construction services for the Forties field in UK North Sea

Engineering, Training Services and Production Solutions

  • Continued strong operational performance in service operator role for production of Dubai’s offshore oil & gas

Energy Developments

  • Commencement of oil production from West Don field in April 2009, less than 1 year from Field Development Programme approval, followed by commencement of production from Don Southwest field in June 2009
  • In July, acquired AH001 floating production facility with a view to upgrade, modification and redeployment

OUTLOOK

In Engineering & Construction, our largest reporting segment, recent contract awards are expected to support strong growth in revenue in the second half of the year. The terms on which these contracts were secured and our progress to date on these awards together with the continued good performance from the rest of our contract portfolio gives us confidence that we can maintain net margins in this segment of around 10% over the medium-term. Furthermore, our ongoing bidding activity in key markets in the Middle East and Africa and the Commonwealth of Independent States continues to position us well for the future.

Revenues in Offshore Engineering & Operations are expected to remain resilient in constant currency terms for the balance of the year. Bidding activity has increased recently and we would look to secure additional business over the coming months which will help position us for growth over the medium-term. However, we do recognise that cost control remains a high priority for our customers, particularly in high-cost markets such as the UKCS, and, as a consequence, we have implemented programmes to reduce our own fixed costs and particularly our property costs. We expect margins for the full year to be somewhat lower than last year.

In Engineering, Training Services and Production Solutions we are also seeing an increase in new business opportunities. However, activity levels in Engineering Services and Training Services are expected to remain subdued for, at least, the balance of this year.

Our near-term focus in Energy Developments remains on tying in the injection wells on the Don assets and commissioning the gas lift on the floating production facility, which is expected to lead to an increase in production levels as the year progresses. In 2010, the second phase of the development should enable us to access additional reserves, following recent discoveries in the Don Southwest field. In addition, we continue to evaluate a number of upstream and energy infrastructure opportunities.

Europe Market Report

Europe close: Investors keep buying

Bourses kept rising Monday as investors continued to bet that Europe is emerging from the worst recession in decades.

Credit Agricole, UBS and Credit Suisse were among the best of a mostly stonger banking sector.

There were also good gains for energy majors as oil prices hit 10-month highs near $75 a barrel. Royal Dutch Shell, Total and Eni are stronger following Friday’s upbeat comments from US Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke about the global economic recovery.

Across the markets, Frankfurt rose 48 to 5,511, the French Cac added 36 to 3,652, while the Swiss exchange finished 54 higher at 6,194.

Life insurer Swiss Life rallied hard on reports that it is about to announce cost cutting measures aimed at saving 200-300m francs.

In economic news, eurozone industrial orders rebounded in June, raising hopes that the manufacturing sector is on the road to recovery.

Industrial orders in the 16-country zone rose 3.1% in June compared with May, according to European Statistics Office Eurostat.

New orders for capital goods grew by 5.6% month-on-month, while non-durable consumer goods increased by 3.1%. Durable consumer goods fell by 3.5%.

On the downside, drugmakers suffered as investors sold defensive stocks. Switzerland’s Roche and French peer Sanofi-Aventis were under pressure.

Results Round Up

Oil services group Petrofac lifted its dividend for the six months to June 30 as revenues and profits rose in spite on the sharp drop in oil prices from the same period the previous year.

It will pay out 10.7 cents a share, compared with 7.5 cents for the previous half year period. Pre-tax profits for the period climbed to Ł174.3m from Ł160.8m as revenue rose to $1.59bn from $1.58bn.

'Notwithstanding the significantly lower oil price environment experienced in the first half of the year the group has performed well and, subject to any unforeseen circumstances, we are confident that we will deliver earnings growth for the full year of at least 20%,’ the firm said.

AIM-listed insurance broker CBG said it has responded positively and quickly to the current economic slowdown.

“The recent period has seen earnings decline in many lines of business and, as a result, we have put in place a significant cost reduction programme which has been focused on the reorganisation of core functions,” it said.
