Major Volume Movers (EEE, HEW, AMED, CVLT)

Evergreen Energy Inc. (NYSE:EEE) sky rocketed 53.26% to $0.120 on an unusual volume of 17.64 million shares. The company provided updates on the development of a Chinese coal facility employing its K-Fuel® technology. Evergreen and its partner, Beijing-based Beijing Gang Jing Hong Ren Technology Co., Ltd. (BGJHR), have each contributed US $500,000 to their equity joint venture (EJV), Evergreen China Energy Technology Co Ltd., also referred to as its Sino/US joint venture. These contributions will provide the EJV’s initial capitalization to support marketing and technical activities.
Hewitt Associates, Inc. (NYSE:HEW) added 1.30% to $47.40 on an unusual volume of 12.76 million shares. Ryan & Maniskas, LLP is investigating potential claims against the board of directors of Hewitt Associates Inc. (“Hewitt” or the “Company”) (NYSE:HEW) concerning possible breaches of fiduciary duty and other violations of law related to the Company’s entry into an agreement to be acquired by Aon Corp. (“Aon”) in a transaction valued at approximately $4.9 billion.
Amedisys, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMED) plunged 24.33% to $26.50 on an unusual volume of 7.42 million shares after SunTrust Robinson Humphrey downgrades Amedisys  from ‘Buy’ to ‘Neutral’. Price target $46. Today’s downgrade follows news late last night of some updated guidance from the company. Amedisys now sees Q2 EPS of about $1.12, including items. The Street is currently looking for quarterly EPS of $1.38.
Logo for CommVault Systems, Inc.CommVault Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CVLT) also plunged 20.28% to $18.71 on an unusual volume of 5.40 million shares. The company said it expects first quarter earnings of approximately $0.11 per share on revenue of approximately $66.3 million. The current consensus earnings estimate is $0.12 per share on revenue of $71.5 million for the quarter ending June 30, 2010. Earlier also it announced CommVault® Simpana® software is now VMware Ready™ for VMware vSphere™ 4.1, the latest release of the company’s virtualization platform, to further reinforce the benefits of virtualized environments, including reduced costs, improved hardware utilization and increased operational efficiencies.
