Integra developed its first onlay collagen graft for dural repair in 1999. Since then, Integra markets the graft materials for sutureless closure of dural defects in the US. Integra’s products are used, mainly in orthopedics, neurosurgery and general surgery. NeuroSciences revenue increased 8.4% year-over-year to $64.8 million in the first quarter 2010.
Integra expects spending on research and development to be between 6% and 7% of the total revenue for the fiscal year 2010, the expenses being mostly concentrated on product development efforts for the spine, neurosurgery and extremity reconstruction product lines. The company is optimistic about the opportunities existing in these markets, which would help it expand the product portfolio and give a boost to the revenue further.
