Dragon Capital Group, Corp (OTC: DRGV)

Breaking News: Dragon Capital Group (OTC: DRGV) subsidiary receives award for technology achievement by Shanghai Municipal Government for development of city gas pipeline risk assessment system.

Read the Press Release Here

The company recently announced in August that revenue for the first six months of 2009 reached $26.9 million, increasing by 20% from the $22.3 million recorded in the first six months of 2008. Now the company, a leading holding company of emerging high-tech companies in China, issued a press release yesterday after the markets closed announcing that its subsidiary, Shanghai Yastand Information Technology Company, Limited ("Shanghai Yastand"), has received an award for technology achievement from Shanghai Municipal Government for developing a city gas pipeline risk assessment system. In addition, Shanghai Yastand has renewed its agreement with Shanghai North Gas Company, Limited to fully implement the pipeline risk assessment system which monitors Shanghai North Gas's 5,280-kilometer underground gas pipelines in north metropolitan areas of Shanghai.

Chairman and CEO, Lawrence Wang, stated, "We are very excited about the potential of this technology which we intend to market to numerous metropolitan areas in China. We believe there is a vast untapped market for this technology and we intend to aggressively pursue this opportunity. We intend to actively market our system and technology in over 2,000 metropolitan areas in China in the next few years which could have a substantial positive impact on our company’s operating results should we prove to be successful.”

The new risk monitoring system will allow Shanghai North Gas Company to monitor any potential breakdown in the underground gas pipelines by detecting gas leakages without the need for additional expenses and works. The new system will provide tremendous economic and environmental benefits by detecting early stage gas leaks enabling quick repair responses to significantly reduce gas losses. Shanghai Yastand developed this system in 2005 and obtained copyrights from National Copyright Bureau of China in 2006.

Aroon Indicator for Trend Analysis

Aroon Indicator for Trend Analysis

Posted: 02 Sep 2009 05:58 AM PDT

Aroon is a relatively new indicator developed by Tushar Chande in 1995, which is used to analyze the direction and strength of trends. Aroon, a Sanskrit word meaning ‘dawn’s early light,’ represents the long-term or short-term trend existing in a stock or currency and also predicts trend reversals. It is an indicator comprising two lines Aroon-Up line and Aroon-Down line. Aroon-Up line measures the amount of time (in percentage) since highest price during the time period and Aroon-Down line measures the amount of time (also in percentage) since lowest price during the time period.

Aroon-Up = (No. of Periods – No. of periods since highest price) x 100
No. of periods

Most traders use Aroon indicator for a range of 25 time periods; many others use 14 time periods. Aroon indicator is an easy to interpret indicator. There are four important values 0, 30, 70 and 100. Strong bullish trend is identified when Aroon-Up is at or near 100. Potential uptrends are indicated when the Aroon-Up line is fluctuating between 70 and 100 (and Aroon Down is between 0 and 30). You can expect a weak bullish trend when Aroon-Up is below 30. Similarly, a strong bearish trend is signified when Aroon-Down is at or near 100, potential downtrends when it is between 70 and 100, and weak bearish trend when it is below 30.

Crossovers are also important. Bullish signals are generated when Aroon-Up crosses Aroon-Down upwards and bearish signal when it crosses downwards. Consolidation of existing trend is indicated when both lines run parallel to each other. Many traders also combine Aroon Up and Down lines to make a single oscillator having values between 100 and -100. Remember Aroon indicator is a lagging indicator and offers better results when used with other indicators.

LONDON Broker Recommendation Round up

Broker tips: Hays, easyJet, Hargreaves Lansdown

Preliminary results from recruitment firm Hays were predictably downbeat but broker Charles Stanley said the excellent cash flow and the reduction in net debt provided bright spots.

‘In the final quarter of its financial year, group net fees declined by 40% on a LFL [like for like] basis. Therefore, Hays starts the new financial year on a weak footing. Also, the interest charge is likely to increase due to pensions and refinancing in early 2010,’ Charles Stanley analyst Tony Shephard notes.

Charles Stanley is trimming its full-year profit estimate for 2010 from Ł100m to Ł90m but expects things to pick up in 2011, when it expects Hays to make pre-tax profit of Ł111m.

The stock has some appeal as a income share with a yield of 5.8% ‘but with further difficult trading ahead, the dividend will be uncovered by earnings in the coming year,’ the broker believes.

However, the outlook may have improved enough by the next set of results, due in February 2010, for the board to risk maintaining the pay out.
